PANEL DISCUSSION ON SIGNIFICANT ROLE OF PROFESSORS [INSTITUTION] IN CREATING A BRAND NAME



The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering of Einstein College of Engineering had arranged a panel discussion on “Significant Role of Professors [Institution] in Creating a Brand Name”, organized by Institution of Engineers (India) students’ chapter on 26.11.2013. Prof. A. Ezhilvanan, Managing Trustee of the college presided over the function in the presence of Dr. K.Ramar, Principal of the college and Dr.M.Subadra, Head of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering.
Dr. M. Subadra, Head of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, welcome the gathering. She shared her experience of attending a workshop at IIT . In her speech, Classes should be handled in such a manner that 30 minutes of the session include technical content that covers the syllabus and remaining hours should be spent for discussing about content beyond syllabus and current events in industry, the method which is insisted by National Board of Accreditation (NBA). She also suggested that the facilities in the department will be improved by utilizing the grants from funding agencies. She informed that knowledge transfer method will be followed for enhancing technical proficiency of the faculties and students.
Dr. K. Ramar delivered the message regarding vital role of professors to create a brand name for the institution.  He expressed the importance of system that should be followed uniformly in order to attain a brand name. He added the terms regarding the substance of getting research and seminar grants and motivated the students to get funded projects. He highlighted the multiple roles that a professor should posses like academician, tutor, and mentor so as to mould the students in the right direction. In his speech, he stated that a professor might be a member in several chapters like Institution of Engineers (IE), Computer Society of India (CSI), ISTE chapters etc. He congratulated the faculties who are the backbone for getting the Best CSI Student Branch Award. He appreciated for putting enormous effort for conducting number of activities under Computer Society of India Chapter.
Prof. A. Ezhilvanan, Managing Trustee congratulated the students who have hunt university ranks. He appreciated that the trend setting initiatives are being done by Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering by stating the evidence as the teachers day celebration arranged by the students. He insisted to arrange number of guest lecturers to the students by inviting prominent experts from industry. He added that the faculties acting as guide for students’ project will take all the responsibilities to direct the students from the scratch towards project delivery. This will help the students to be aware of latest technologies and empower them to cater employability. He added that the professional should be multi dimensional as Academician, Administrative and play a reputed role in department activities. He gave the outline about the new course “CLEAR”, which will be added to the final year, BE students in the eighth semester.
Prof. K.Arun Kumar delivered vote of thanks and assured to put efforts to attain brand name for the institution.

National Level Technical Symposium "ESOTERIC-13 " was Organised by ECE Department on 9.10.2013.
Presidential address was given by Mr.A. Mathivanan, Secretary,  Felicitation address by Dr.K.Ramar, Principal.
            



And the   Resource person Dr.R.Balasubramanian, Associate Professor, Dept of CSE, IIT Roorkee,  he delivered key note address on research methodologies.

ELACE Inaugural Function


                  We Organised ELACE Inauguration on July 7,2013.The  Chief Guest on this function is             Mr.M.Rose Syril, Sub Divisional Manager, BSNL




                                The   Presidential address was given by  Mr.A.Mathivanan, Secretary  about  Improvement in Department activities due to the steps taken by the faculties and how to implement the latest technology in day to day activities


                                        The    Felicitation address was given by  Dr.K.Ramar, Principal , appreciate the effects taken   by the students to create electronic bouquet and  develop skills to get job opportunities

ELACE- Valedictory Programme

                  Our Department Organised ELACE Valedictory Function on 10th April,2013.The Chief guest on this function is  Mr.R.V.Krishnan, SPB paper Mill, Tirunelveli.and he gave Motivational talk towards placement activity.



                                              Kalanjiyam”, the department literary magazine was released by  Mr.R.V.Krishnan, SPB paper Mill, Tirunelveli in the presence of Mr.A.Ezhilvanan ,Managing Trustee, Dr.K.Ramar ,Principal, Dr.M.Subadra ,Head of the Department and the President ,Vice-President and Members of ELACE.




                                                       Prizes and certificates were distributed to the winners of intra department open house, paper presentation, adzap and quiz competition



                    Best Class Award was given to the class III B, based on academic performance, maintaining attendance, discipline and student's notice board maintenance.




Quality Assurance Cell (QAC)

                      The Chairman of our institution, Proficient members from university, members from general public, parents, staff members of our department and students constitute the Quality Assurance Cell (QAC). The meetings are held thrice in every semester and members of QAC share their views and opinions to improve the quality of education and skill of the students. They are also kept informed about progress of the evaluation during these meetings and through reports. They have discussed about the association activities, Students' performance regarding discipline, internal test, placement, project, attendance, counseling etc. The suggestions from the external members and students are invited. This meeting was held on 24th of January 2013.

DST sponsored two day national level Conference - “NAVICS’13”

                            We organized a two days, Third National Conference on Advanced VLSI, Image Processing and Communication Systems “EINSTEIN NAVICS – 2013” on April  4th &5th, 2013.
This Inaugural function was sponsored by Department of Science and Technology, New Delhi. Dr.R.Shantha Selva Kumari, Professor and Head, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mepco Schlenk Engineering College, Sivakasi has consented to be the Chief Guest and delivers the inaugural address on 04.04.2013 at 10.00 am.

Intra Department Technical Quiz

Our department ELACE association has organised   Technical and non technical quiz competition for all the students of ECE dept on March 14,2013.5 teams were participated in this competition and each team has 4 students.
            The coordinators are  Ms.S.Sharmila Amirtham,Asst. Professors / ECE and Mrs. M.Rajalakshmi, Asst. Professors / ECE.

Open House - Project Contest

ELACE organised Intra department competition on March 7,2013.In this Competition 48 projects has been displayed. From these 48 projects the best projects was awarded during the ELACE valedictory function.

Intra Department Symposium

         The technical paper presentation and adzap was conducted on 18th February 2013.  The areas for Paper presentation are Embedded Systems, Cloud Computing, Bio-Informatics and Nanotechnology. 15 batches were participated in Paper Presentation contest and 16 teams in Ad Zap. Our secretary Mr.A.Mathivanan delivered Presidential address and motivated the students to strengthen their knowledge for doing more innovative projects. The principal Dr.K.Ramar explained about various funding agencies for doing students’ projects, during his Felicitation address. 
    The judges for Paper Presentation were Mr.David Neels Ponkumar, Associate professor, Mrs.P.Saravanaselvi, Associate Professor and Mr.M.Muthukannan, Associate Professor. The Judges for Ad-Zap were Mr.C.Karthikeyan, Assistant Professor, Mr.V. Arunachalam, Assistant Professor and Ms.S.Preethi Baalaa,Assistant Professor.

CHAMP'13 - A hunt for India by Techno-Champ Alcheringa IIT Guwahati


            Our College has organized a two days workshop on “Champ – A Hunt for India by Techno – Champ Alcheringa IIT Guw ahati” on 15th and 16th of February 2013. Prof.A.Amuthavanan, Chairman of the college presided over the function in the presence of Dr.K.Ramar, principal of the college. Baikunth Diwari and Atol Kumar Pandey, Alumini of IIT, Gawahati was the Chief Guest for the function.




Prof.A.Amuthavanan, in his presidential address, projected the importance of Robotics workshop. He motivated the students that how to tackle the world with their innovative ideas. Besides he insisted the students that have much confidence level with technical knowledge. Dr. K. Ramar, in his felicitation address, congratulated the students those who participated in the Robotics workshop for enhancing their knowledge. Besides he wishes the student to get award in the workshop.



Baikunth Diwari and Atol Kumar Pandey, Alumini of IIT, Gawahati handled the two days session entitled “Basics about electronics, Motors and Microcontroler”. These topics are essential for designing Robotics. Besides in their Session they gave wonderful hands on training for line follower robotics design using embedded C. After that they conducted competition to promote for next level which is going to be held at IIT Gaw hati.  



Dr.M.Subadra, Convener announced the Winners in the competition. Winners are First Prize – ECE department PG Students of Anna University, Tirunelveli Region. Second Prize – ECE department Students of Einstein College of Engineering, Tirunelveli. Third Prize – EEE department Students of Einstein College of Engineering, Tirunelveli.


DRDO sponsored workshop on Image Processing

The DRDO sponsored 2 days National level workshop on Digital Image Processing and its Application using MATLAB was conducted on 12th and 13th of February 2013.


The Program covers vide areas like fuzzy logic for solving tipping problem, Texture Image Segmentation, Image Segmentation and Classification, Recent Trends in Image and Video Processing.

Career Development program

           Our Electronics and Communication Engineering Department along with Institution of Engineers(India) - EC division arranged career development program for final year ECE students on 11th February 2013. The Resource person for the program was Dr.R.Dinesh, Technical Manager, HCL Technologies, Bangalore.




                Dr.R.Dinesh guided our students for the preparation for interviews and the ways to develop resume. Also he gave brief information about current industrial trends. He spends time to answer the queries raised by our students


Alumni Meet - 2013

            Alumni meet was held on 13th January 2013. The chief guest for the program was Mohammed Ilyas, Managing Director, M.H. Jewelers, Tirunelveli.


         Our students eagerly come to our institution and sharing their opinions to the further improvement of our current students.
