ESOTERIC 2K14

The Einstein Legends Association for Communication Engineers (ELACE) of Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Einstein College of Engineering organized one day National Level Technical Symposium “ESOTERIC 2K14” (A riddle of electronics) on 30^th September 2014. Prof.A.Amudhavanan, Chairman of the college presided over the function in the presence of Dr. K.Ramar, Principal of the college. Thiru.M.Jeyasekar, Associate General Manager, Tata Consultancy Services, Chennai was the Chief Guest for the function.

Ms.G.Augustino Snow Janani, ELACE student secretary welcomed the gathering. Mr.K.Balamurugan, Coordinator of ECE department orated about the focus on “ESOTERIC 2K14”.

 Thiru.M.Jeyasekar, in his inaugural address, he initiated the student to be always in research minded and they go beyond the technical skill and try to implement the innovative ideas and he advised the students to do their work from their whole heart.

In addition to paper presentation, we conducted the events like multimedia presentation, Game Corner, and Quiz. P.Nandhini and R.Siva Ranjani Dr. Sivanthi Aditanar College of Engineering, Thiruchendur, K.Siva Devi, and P.Murugeshwari Anna University, Tirunelveli, G.Joy Gracia University V.O.C College of Engineering College, Tirunelveli, received the best paper award.

In this function, we released the magazine “KALANJIYAM”, Volume-4 and technical magazine “GENIUS PLUS”, Volume-4. In the valedictory function Prof.A. Amudhavanan, Chairman of the college delivered the valedictory address and distributed the certificates to the participants. Mrs.Subaananthi delivered the report of “ESOTERIC 2K14”. Mrs.G.Renganayagi, Assistant Professor, proposed the vote of thanks for the gathering.

Under the guidance of Mr.K.Balamurugan, Coordinator of Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Mr.V.Karthikeyan, Mrs.G.Renganayagi, & Ms.S.Anbusuhantha, ESOTERIC 2K14 Coordinators, faculties and Students arranged the function in a grand manner.

Guidelines for the students:

·         2 students each team

·         10 minutes for their presentation

·         Bring both hard  copy and soft copy for their presentation

Registration fee: Rs 200 per student (Rs 400 per batch)

Registration DD in favour of “The Principal, Einstein College of Engineering” payable at Tirunelveli.

ELACE Inauguration

ELACE INAUGURAL FUNCTION 2014-2015

Our Department organized Inaugural function of Einstein Legends Association for Communication Engineers (ELACE) for the Academic year 2014-2015 on 02.08.2014. Prof.A.Ezhilvanan, Managing Trustee of the college presided over the function in the august presence of Dr.K.Ramar, Principal of the college. Dr.G.Sainarayanan, Senior Technical Specialist, HCL Technologies Ltd, Chennai was the Chief Guest for the function.

Mr.S.Sreeni Subrahmanian, ELACE Executive Member welcomed the gathering. Mr.K.Balamurugan, Coordinator of ELACE orated about the Annual report of ELACE activities held in the academic year 2013 – 2014. Dr.M.Subadra, Professor, ECE Department introduced the office bearers of current academic year.

Prof.A.Ezhilvanan, in his presidential address, congratulated the newly appointed Office bearers and stated that, students must have their attitude to reach altitude. He advised the student that communication technology is changing in rapid rate, so apart from scientific study. Students have to improve their communication skill to tackle the society. He encouraged the student to put effort to do more projects.

Dr.K.Ramar, in his felicitation address, motivated the students to do innovative projects in the project lab specifically provided for the student. He advised the student to utilize the facilities to enlighten the hidden talents. Besides he advised the office bearers to conduct a lot of training program through association for getting placement. He insisted the student to participate other college symposium and conferences for improving their personality skills.

Dr.G.Sainarayanan, in his inaugural address, motivated the student to have basic knowledge in technology to get employment. He advised the students to do their projects for real-time application. So that students can build their technical & practical skills. He gave motivational talk to the student that how to be get ready for attending the interview with basic knowledge.

In this function, the academic year (2013 – 2014) toppers are honoured with prizes and the certificates are distributed to the student those who participated in the value added courses. Ms.G.Augustino Snow Janani, Secretary of ELACE proposed the vote of thanks for the gathering.

ELACE Valedictory

Valedictory function of Einstein Legends Association for Communication Engineers (ELACE) – Student Chapter for the academic calendar 2013-2014 was organized on 04.04.14. Mr. A.Mathivanan, Secretary of the college presided over the function in the august presence of Dr. K.Ramar, principal of the college.   

Dr.M.Subadra, Convener, Professor and Head of Electronics and Communication Engineering announced the winners for various events. Besides she declared the best class award to III ECE-“B” section.

Einstein Technical Magazine entitled “Genius Plus volume-3” and Literary Magazine entitled “Kalanjiam volume-3” was released on that day. Mr.C.Karthikeyan, Associate Professor, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering narrated about the making of Genius Plus volume-3 and Ms.S.Arulselvi, Student Member, narrated about the making of Kalanjiam magazine.

The staff co-ordinators for this program was Associate Professor.Mr.C.Karthikeyan, Assistant Professor Mrs.M.Rajalakshmi of ECE Department.

EINSTEIN NAVICS' 14

Fourth National Conference on Advanced VLSI, Image Processing and Communication Systems “EINSTEIN NAVICS’14” for the academic year 2013 – 2014 was organized on 3^rd and 4^th April 2014. Prof. A.Amudhavanan, Chairman of the college presided over the function in the august presence of Dr. K.Ramar, principal of the college.  Mr.J.J.Jadhav, Outstanding Scientist, ADA, DRDO, Bangalore was the Chief Guest for the function.

Mr.J.J.Jadhav, in his inaugural address, appreciated the students for their innovative design of E-bouquet and E-Kuthuvizhakkku and involvement for this conference. He gave wonderful speech about “Recent trends in Avionics”. He narrated about the development of FPGA design in the field of Avionics and explained about the simulation tools like PSpice, and ModelSim in Avionics.

 More than 150 papers from all over the states were received for the conference. The eminent persons from various discipline scrutinized the research articles based on innovativeness, organization, recent techniques and research results. 50 articles are selected for presentation. More than 30 participants presented their research articles in four streams.

Under the guidance of Dr.M.Subadra, Convener, Professor and Head of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Coordinators Ass.Prof.Mrs.R.Queen, Ass.Prof.Mrs.G.Renganayagi, faculties and Students arranged the function in a grand manner. 

Intra Department Symposium "ELACE MEET-2014"

An one day Intra Department Symposium "ELACE MEET-2014" for ECE students was organized   by Institution of Engineers (India) Students' Chapter- EC Division and Einstein Legends Association for Communication Engineers (ELACE) on 19^th of March 2014. Managing trustee Prof.A.Ezhilvanan and principal Dr.K.Ramar presides over the function. Dr.M.Subadra, prof. and head of ECE department, convener of IE, Ms.J.Bennet Solomi  AP/ECE and Ms.I.Kanaga Sangeetha AP/ECE conducted the symposium.

Program was divided into two sessions, in morning session students presented their papers and Quiz was conducted during afternoon session. All the students of ECE Department participated in this program.  

Open House

Open House for ECE students was arranged by Institution of Engineers (India) Students' Chapter- EC Division on 26^th of February 2014.Dr.R.Dinesh Senior development manager, Amazon development center, Bangalore, was the chief guest. Managing trustee Prof.A. Ezhilvanan and principal Dr.K.Ramar presides over the function. Dr.M.Subadra, prof. and head of ECE department, convener of IE, Mr.V.Karthikeyan AP/ECE staff advisor of ECE department  and Ms.I.Kanaga Sangeetha AP/ECE conducted the open house.

The ultimate aim of this program is to develop practical and project oriented knowledge in various disciplines. More than 70 project were submitted by the students of ECE department.  

  

Industrial Visit

An industrial visit to SPB Paper Mill ,Tirunelveli was arranged by Institution of Engineers (India) Students' Chapter- EC Division on 17^th of February 2014 for the final year and third year  ECE students. Managing trustee Prof.A. Ezhilvanan and principal Dr.K.Ramar and Dr.M.Subadra, prof. and head of ECE department  helped to arrange the visit.

Design and Implementation in Adobe Photoshop

A workshop on Design and Implementation of Adobe Photoshop was organized by Institution of Engineers (India) Students' Chapter- EC Division and Einstein Legends Association for Communication Engineers (ELACE) and the event was arranged by   Dr.M.Subadra, prof. and head of ECE department, convener of IE,  on 14^th of February 2014.The resource persons for the workshop was Mr.C.Karthikeyan Asso.Prof.ECE.dept and Mr.V.Arunachalam Assi.Prof.ECE.dept. 

Usage of Photoshop tools was explained and Hands-On-Training in Photoshop Software was given to the staff members. Principal Dr.K.Ramar presides over the function.

Guest Lecture

A guest lecture was organized by IE(I) Students' Chapter-ECE Department on 7^th of February 2014. Resource person for the lecture was C.David,senior software developer, Photon interactive private limited, Chennai. Managing trustee Prof.A. Ezhilvanan and principal Dr.K.Ramar presides over the function.

Career Development Program

A one day Career Development Program for pre final year students was conducted on 29^th of January 2014 to develop the skills of students. Staff coordinator for the program was Mrs.Rajalaksmi Assi.Prof.ECE dept. and Ms.K.Packialakshmi Assi.Prof.ECE dept.

            Group Discussion and Aptitude Tests were conducted. Program was conducted by final year ECE students, around 100 students participated in the event. Program was divided into two sessions morning session was group discussion and afternoon session was aptitude test.

Demonstration Program on Emerging Simulation Tools

     Demonstration Program on Emerging Simulation Tools was organized by Institution of Engineers (India) Students' Chapter- EC Division on 27^th  January 2014. Resource person for the program was K.Muthukanan Asso.Prof.ECE.dept and Staff Co-ordinator for the program was Ms.P.Anne Persial  Asst.prof.ECE.dept.

         Program was divided into two sessions morning session was introduction to MATLAB software and afternoon session was Hands-On-Training in MATLAB software. All the students of second year ECE participated in this program.

EINSTEIN RMD ’2013

Our Department  organised two days National  Seminar on Research Methodologies and Documentation (EINSTEIN RMD ’2013) on 13.12.2013 &14.12.2013.
          Prof.A.Ezhilvanan,Managing Trustee & Dr.K.Ramar,Principal Presided over the Function & The Head of the Department Dr.M.Subadra,Convener orated about the focus on
EINSTEIN RMD ’2013.
           Dr.P. Shanmugavadivu,Associate Professor Department of Computer Science and Application,Gandhigram Rural Institute-Deemed University,Gandhigram was the Chief Guest for the Function gave key notes on "Quality Metrices and Research".
           Dr.K.Ramar,Principal gave felicitation address.
           Dr.K.Mahendran,Associate Professor & Director,Gandhigram Rural Institute-Deemed University,Gandhigram Shared the afternoon session on the topic Outline of Research Methodologies. 
            Dr.K.Vishnu Namboothri,BGM Government College, Kollam,Kerala enlightened the Students about "LATEX".
           In the valedictory Function Mr.Suresh Babu,Associate Vice President,TCS,Chennai gave valedictory address.

 

CLEAR Course

National level workshop on Digital Image Processing and its Applications using MATLAB

Two days National level workshop on Digital Image Processing and its Applications using MATLAB sponsored by Defence Research & Development Organization (DRDO), New Delhi on 12.02.13 and 13.02.12. Prof.A.Amuthavanan, Chairman of the college presided over the function in the presence of Dr.K.Ramar, principal of the college. Dr.R.Dinesh, Technical Manager, HCL Technologies, Banglore was the Chief Guest for the function.

Dr.R.Dinesh, in his inaugural address, shared the experience about developing application in the field of image processing technique. He started the session entitled “Recent Trends in Image and Video Processing”. He explained about the need of image processing technique in the practical application like ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System), medical imaging, security and surveillance. He enrich the session with Hands on training on retrieval of skewed image using MatLab.

Dr.Suruliandi, Associate Professor, Manonmaniam Sundaranar University as Resource person handled the session on the topic “Research Methodology”. On 13.2.13 the morning session was started with warm welcome. Mr.K.Muthukannan, Associate Professor, Einstein College of Engineering as Resource person handled the session on the topic “Image Segmentation and Classification using MatLab”. Dr.K.Muneeswaran, Professor/CSE, Mepco Schlenk Engineering College as Resource person handled the session on the topic “Texture Image Segmentation”.

Under the guidance of Dr.M.Subadra Convener, the coordinators Mr.K.ArunKumar, Mrs.G.Renganayagi, the faculties and Students of Electronics and Communication Engineering arranged the function in a grand manner.

Department Planning Committee Meeting

For the development of our Department we organized a planning committee to discuss the quality education. Various suggestions from the planning committee members were obtained during that session. Chairman Prof.A. Amuthavanan, Dr.K.Ramar, principal of the college and Dr.M.Subadra, Professor and Head of Electronics and Communication Engineering presides over the function.

Teacher's Day Celebration

Students Celebrated Teacher's Day Function on September 5,2013. Various events were held on that day  by second, third and final year students individually for the staff members. Dr.K.Ramar, principal of the college and Dr.M.Subadra, Professor and Head of Electronics and Communication Engineering presides over the function.

Best Teacher and Tyro Award

The Teacher's Day was Celebrated by Einstein Staff Club on September 5,2013.
                          
                       In that Function,based on the Academics,Research,Career Development,Contribution to Department and College the Award was given to the faculty.      
                       
                         The Best Teacher Award  was given to Dr.M. Subadra,Head of the ECE Department.
                         The Best Tyro Award was given to Mr.V,Aruachalam, ECE Department.
