Ms.C.Chella Gifta, Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering greeted the gathering with her welcome address. Dr.M.Subadra, Convener for IE (I) student chapter orated about the history of Institution of Engineers (India). Besides in her speech, she mentioned that our college is the 100th chapter in India.

Our principal, Dr. K. Ramar had projected the importance of IE (I) student chapter in his felicitation address. Further he motivated the students to be active part in various program organized by IE chapter and encouraged the students to submit more innovative project proposals to IE (I) chapter to get grant and award given by IE (I) student chapter.

The chief guest Er.V.C.Gandhi shared his experience about programs organised by Institution of Engineers (I), like AMIE. He has also given note about the Best Engineering College award which was offered from the year 2008-2009. He also mentioned the revised criteria for awarding the best engineering college for the current academic year 2012-2013. He had given suggestion regarding the various student activities to get full involvement across student chapter. He wished the student to get many project grants and best engineering college award for this year.

Pongal Celebration

The Thamizhar Thiruvizha Pongal has been celebrated in our Einstein premises on 12.01.2013, the eve of Pongal. The whole college environment was totally filled with sugar canes and rangoli.

Each department had been providede separate set of utensils and crockery items to prepare pongal. The Management, Principal, Head of the Department, Staff members and Students from all the years had jointly preapered the pongal and shared the same.

The mind blowing environment was the performance done of students with silambam and other fire twirling events.

The sweet pongal with vada had been distributed to all the members of Einstein families.

One day seminar on Digital Image Watermarking and Content based Image Retrieval

The one day seminar organized by our Department on “Digital Image Watermarking and content based image retrieval” on 29th December 2012.

Our secretary, Prof. A Mathivanan had presided over the function in the presence of our principal, Dr. K.Ramar. Dr.R. Balasubramanian, Assistant Professor, Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee was the Chief Guest for the function.

Ms.C.V.Mala, Assistant Professor of our ECE Department greeted the gathering with welcome address. Prof. A. Mathivannan, in his presidential address, projected the importance of seminar for being a role models for them self with sound knowledge in particular domain. He also added that the student should know their strength, weakness and they tried to find the opportunities to expand the wisdom. Besides he advised the student to write articles by utilizing this Image Processing platform with good aspiration.

Dr. K. Ramar, in his special address, delivered the importance of image based computing and processing. Besides he motivated the students to do innovative projects which will be needed for the society.

Dr. R. Balasubramanian presented the conventional ways of image processing methodologies with their mathematical notations. He had also explained the watermarking technology based on spatial and frequency domain. In the present scenario, the spatial domain features were not secured. So the security is constrained with fractional frequency transform and wavelets transform technique by singular value decomposition method.  By this he enlightened the students to know much about the development in the field of content based image retrieval.  He suggested the student community to do projects and can confront the world by developing the technical skills.

More than 120 students and faculties are benefited using this seminar in the area of image processing. Ms.P.Annie Persial, Assistant Professor, our Electronics and Communication Engineering Department had proposed the vote of thanks.

Faculty Development Program on "MATLAB and Sci-lab"

Our Electronics and Communication Engineering Department had organized a week hands-on training program on “MATLAB, Sci-lab and it’s Engineering Applications” from 17.12.2012 to 21.12.2012. All the sessions of the one week Faculty Development Program  was very informative and quite interesting.

The first three days of the program was handled by Mr. Mahesh Anand, Founder & Chief Consultant, Scientific Computing Solutions, Chennai. It covered all concepts from the basic towards the latest research issues. We had very positive experience to build projects using MATLAB and further guide and motivate students to expertise in this domain. The brief information about Fourier Transform and Wavelet Transform with real time examples made us bring into a new world of signal processing. We also enjoyed learning all concepts in voice processing, image processing and signal processing with friendly environment.

Dr.N.Sundara Rajan, Professor, School of Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore shared information regarding Research Methodologies, publishing papers in reputed journals, thesis writing templates, joining with research groups and managing personal life during research.

Mr.C.Karthikeyan, Assistant Professor, Electronics and Communication Engineering Department, Einstein College of Engineering had handled 2 days sessions for Sci-lab. The brief introduction about Sci-lab is also to be appreciated.

Einstein Family - Kodaikanl Trip

The three days trip to kodaikanal started from Einstein College of Engineering campus on 14th December 2012 at 10.30 am. We reached kodaikanal around 7 pm and really enjoyed the totally different climate of Kodai.

We had great and cheerful get together through conducting events like ‘Neeya- Naana’, querying pairs and conducting funny events at Tamilnadu hotel on the same day night.

Green Valley View has an excellent panoramic view of the plains and a sheer drop of 1,500 metres. The pathway to the green valley view is loaded with shops selling homemade chocolates, ornaments and evergreen flowers.
