One day seminar on Digital Image Watermarking and Content based Image Retrieval

The one day seminar organized by our Department on “Digital Image Watermarking and content based image retrieval” on 29th December 2012.

Our secretary, Prof. A Mathivanan had presided over the function in the presence of our principal, Dr. K.Ramar. Dr.R. Balasubramanian, Assistant Professor, Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee was the Chief Guest for the function.

Ms.C.V.Mala, Assistant Professor of our ECE Department greeted the gathering with welcome address. Prof. A. Mathivannan, in his presidential address, projected the importance of seminar for being a role models for them self with sound knowledge in particular domain. He also added that the student should know their strength, weakness and they tried to find the opportunities to expand the wisdom. Besides he advised the student to write articles by utilizing this Image Processing platform with good aspiration.

Dr. K. Ramar, in his special address, delivered the importance of image based computing and processing. Besides he motivated the students to do innovative projects which will be needed for the society.

Dr. R. Balasubramanian presented the conventional ways of image processing methodologies with their mathematical notations. He had also explained the watermarking technology based on spatial and frequency domain. In the present scenario, the spatial domain features were not secured. So the security is constrained with fractional frequency transform and wavelets transform technique by singular value decomposition method.  By this he enlightened the students to know much about the development in the field of content based image retrieval.  He suggested the student community to do projects and can confront the world by developing the technical skills.

More than 120 students and faculties are benefited using this seminar in the area of image processing. Ms.P.Annie Persial, Assistant Professor, our Electronics and Communication Engineering Department had proposed the vote of thanks.
